I wouldn’t fly for them if they weren’t the most amazing people in the whole universe.
Born Earth Date 26 June 2160, Avalon Colony
Addie Reynolds was born in Serenity City on Avalon Prime during World War Four. With three older and two younger siblings, resources were thin growing up. With Avalon devastated by the war, life was hard for everyone. Theft was abundant, smuggling and crime flourished. Addie grew up in a rough neighborhood on a planet of rough neighborhoods. Two of her siblings did not make it to adulthood.
Her diminutive stature did not hold her back. Addie has been a firecracker all her life, full of energy and grit, but never a pushover despite her loving personality. Emotional outbursts got her in trouble numerous times growing up. Her responses and critiques of those who sought to offend her were often so bitterly honest the recipient would often swing at her, or cry.
A love of books, comics, and games were constants throughout her life. The only thing which could tear her away was driving. Addie loved driving go carts, dune buggies, and by the time she was a teenager, small spacecraft. Of course, she was not of legal driving age, but she was talented. It was not long before she found that she could make good money racing small crafts. Addie was introduced to a massive underground world throughout Avalon where people modify personal ships for racing and battle.
The winnings from illegal racing soon enabled her to move her family to a better area and buy her own ship. She took it out under her older brother’s name, at first. She named her ship, Dragonfly. Over the years of racing, the underground got to know the bright ray of sunshine who breathed fire and could fly circles around people twice her age. Thus, she was bestowed the nickname: Firefly.
After some run-ins with the police and a sticky situation which forced her to battle instead of race, Addie tried to go straight and cease her illegal activities. But, finding something that paid her well enough to do so was difficult. When she turned seventeen she got the title for her ship from her brother and worked legitimate jobs, but always raced on the side.
One day, following a race, she was approached by some old vets with a job. They promised good pay and occasional danger, but when they mentioned the amazing ship she would be flying, she signed up. She sends most of her money back to her family.
